Lifestyle
Lifestyle
Sierra Blanca is a purely residential community: there are no restaurants, shops or nightlife within the development. In return, it offers a privileged microclimate, thanks to the protection of La Concha, which softens the heat in summer and the wind on the few cold winter days, as well as nature close at hand and immediate proximity to the Golden Mile.
Nature and hiking
Sierra Blanca borders Nagüeles Park and is surrounded by pine trees, cork oaks and holm oaks. Several hiking routes start from here, including the route to Cascada de Camoján and the Mina de Buenavista trail, a 4,2 km route to the old lead mines, where the smelting furnace is still preserved.
Sport and wellbeing
Fuerte de Nagüeles, very close to the development, offers treetop circuits, abseiling and a climbing wall for children and young people. For those looking for something more therapeutic, Clínica Buchinger is one of Europe’s benchmark wellness retreats, specialising in therapeutic fasting and holistic wellbeing.
Families and schools
Just a few minutes away, next to Nagüeles Park, is Swans International School, founded in 1971, with a British curriculum integrated with the Spanish system. You can find all the information about schools in the area in our full guide.
Despite its tranquillity, Sierra Blanca is only minutes from the Golden Mile, with restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and clinics within easy reach.
The Real Estate Market
The Real Estate Market
Sierra Blanca is one of the most established and stable markets on the Costa del Sol. Supply is limited by design: there are barely any free plots left, which keeps demand high and prices resilient even during the most uncertain market cycles.
Property profile
Detached villas on plots of between 1.500 and 6.000 m² predominate, although some exceed 18.000 m². The architecture combines classic Andalusian style, with mature gardens and stately façades, with contemporary villas of clean lines, the result of the many renovations and reconstructions carried out in recent years. There are also some high-end apartment complexes, such as Lagos de Sierra Blanca and Meisho Hills.
Prices and trends
According to the Portal Estadístico del Notariado, Sierra Blanca leads Marbella’s price ranking with 5.479 €/m², well above the municipal average (4.424 €/m²). Villa prices range from 4 to more than 20 million euros, with mansions reaching up to 30 million. Calle Granados, within the development, is the most expensive street in Spain for renting, with an average of 26.000 € per month. The combination of scarce supply and constant international demand allows Sierra Blanca to preserve its value better than most comparable areas of Marbella.
Buyer profile
The buyer is mostly international: British, Scandinavian and German buyers represent an important part of demand, although there is growing interest from Middle Eastern buyers. Above all, they look for privacy, security and an established location, with settled neighbours and without the uncertainty of a development that is still in progress.
Sierra Blanca offers something difficult to find in Marbella: the scale of a real neighbourhood, with almost 300 properties, combined with the privacy and low density of the most exclusive communities.

Sierra Blanca - The Origins
Before becoming one of Europe’s most exclusive addresses, the area where Sierra Blanca now stands had an industrial past: in the 19th century, El Ángel and La Concepción housed Spain’s first blast furnaces, fuelled by iron from the Sierra Blanca mines.
The transformation into the current development began in the early 1990s, when the developer António Rodríguez designed the master plan for what would become Marbella’s most prestigious hillside residential area. Unlike other developments in the area, which follow the terrain with winding streets, Rodríguez opted for a grid of wide avenues, giving Sierra Blanca its characteristic order and sense of space.
The names of its streets have a particular curiosity: it was David and Elizabeth Brockman, an American couple among the first owners, who, due to their passion for classical music, named the roads after composers such as Albinoni, Chopin, Liszt and Verdi.
